Facts of Life
Guru Corner från Tom och Bill.

Facts of Life (Bill Bonner)
Life goes on. People collide. Genes… atoms… facts… and opinions, too. Republicans and Democrats. Bull markets, bear markets, booms and busts… Truth and lies. Trump and Romney.
Sometimes the collisions are fruitful. Sometimes, they are disappointing.

So, let’s go to the news. A headline from Bloomberg tells us what we already knew. The Federal Reserve has run into the reality of an Inflate-or-Die world. There’s no going back to “normalcy”:

Gold wins 26% of the time. Stocks win 74% of the time. So as a long-term wealth compounder, you want your money in stocks MOST of the time.(Tom D)

(för närvarande befinner vi oss i 26%-perioden)

Smaller countries have often been shown to perform better than large countries in terms of overall income and in economic growth. Also, their populations often enjoy more healthy and safe social environments.
Whichever way the race goes, in other words, the real winner will be the Deep State, as it always is. (Bill B)

Gold is beginning to sniff inflation out, as it always does. It hasn’t hit all-time highs in terms of the dollar or the Chinese yuan yet. But as I showed you yesterday, in terms of almost every other currency around the world, gold is soaring… (Tom D)

The market is overwhelmingly positioned for deflation. Bonds are the hottest investments on Wall Street and more than $10 trillion of bonds trade with negative interest rates.

Commodities, meanwhile, are hated. Many are trading at 10-year lows. My contrarian instinct interprets this as “the crowd is wrong, and inflation is coming.”

The stock market is at one of its richest valuations in history, the economic expansion we’re in is the longest in history, the financial system is the most leveraged it’s ever been, and fund managers are the most undisciplined they’ve ever been. (Tom D)
