Cantillon-effekt
Vinnare och förlorar på nytryckta pengar.

GURU CORNER
Private ownership of the means of production is the fundamental institution of the market economy. It is the institution the presence of which characterizes the market economy as such. Where it is absent, there is no question of a market economy.

The totalitarian ethos of the twentieth century, whether in the “mixed” version of the Hindenburg Program or the Bolshevik version of Lenin and Stalin, emerges from the will of individuals who propose to control their fellows.

Sweden launched its failed negative rate plan almost five years ago and now reverses it due to the financial risks that are created.

When you are looking for revenge, bring two caskets.

One does not see malinvestment at the time of money printing. Price increases are delayed and uneven, due to the Cantillon Effect whereby the early receivers of new money are able to purchase goods and services at existing prices. Later receivers or those who do not receive the new money at all suffer higher prices and a reduction in their standards of living. Even then most people do not link higher retail prices with a previous expansion of the money supply.

It would be hard to invent a more effective method for the destruction of modern society.

– “The Hidden Link Between Fiat Money and the Increasing Appeal of Socialism” by Patrick Barron

The mainstream National Bureau of Economic Research definition of recessions is of little value. Real saving, not consumer demand, is the real driver behind economic growth.

Keynes and Hazlitt: their lives and loyalties are a study in contrast — and mostly of choices born of internal conviction, in Hazlitt's case, or lack thereof, in Keynes's case.
