”In the early 1990s, Sweden, with a similar real estate bubble, faced its own collapse. But the government resisted bailing everyone out. A lot of people went bankrupt during a two-or three-year period. But since then Sweden has boomed and is now one of the soundest economies in the world. Its currency today is much stronger than most, partly due to that period. The same thing happened in Mexico in 1994 and in Russia and Asia in the late 1990s. All these nations went through the wringer. People went bankrupt. And all emerged through, thriving sound, solid, and growing."
